I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia State University in Industrial Technology. I graduated from Mary Baldwin University with a Master of Arts In Teaching. My teaching experience is in a first grade classroom for six years. I received my Post-Master's Certificate for Reading Specialist from Virginia Commonwealth University. Currently, I am working in different capacities as a Reading Specialist.

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and my Master's degrees in Reading from Virginia Commonwealth University. I received my post-graduate certificate in educational leadership from George Washington University. I have 34 years of experience in education. My previous roles include classroom teacher in grades pre-k, 1, 2 and 3, librarian K-8, reading resource teacher (elementary), assistant principal, and principal. I currently serve as Southampton's literacy coach.
